2011 Mac mini: RAM, Hard drive, Logic board. In most makes of Mac Mini you can't upgrade the processor - for models released since 2009, processors have been soldered onto the motherboard. Maximum Apple supported macOS for your 2011 iMac is High Sierra (10.13.6), but minimum OS to upgrade is 10.8. You will need a 2 step process to get to High Sierra.
Hi ..
First, check to make sure your Mac can upgrade to El Capitan > https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201475
If your Mac meets the requirements, a Safe Mode boot deletes system caches that may help.
Top left corner of your screen click the Apple > Shut Down.
After your Mac shuts down, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key. You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after you hear the startup tone, but not before.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.
